Please join us on Saturday May 21, 2022 for the Run Jimmy Run 5K to benefit the Alzheimer's Association Western New York Chapter! This year we are excited to announce that the 5K run will take place at Delaware Park in the heart of downtown Buffalo and we will also be offering a 1.4 mile Fun Walk!
Why participate in the Run Jimmy Run 5K? More than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease and nearly 400,000 are New Yorkers. The Alzheimer Association WNY Chapter serves Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans and Wyoming counties, with educational programs, support services, and other resources for care partners and those living with dementia. All proceeds go directly to the Alzheimer Association WNY Chapter.

RACE DAY REGISTRATION & PACKET PICKUP
Race day registration and packet Pickup will take place at St. George's parking lot (see course map) from 8am until the start of the race at 9:30am. We are offering both a 5K Run as well as a shorter 1.4 mile fun walk. Those who participate in the 1.4 mile distance will start with the 5K runners and walk/run to the finish line (less than one loop as shown on 5K map).
All participants who register by Monday May 9th at 9am are guaranteed to receive an official Run Jimmy Run 5K tank top shirt in their requested size. A small quantity of extra shirts will be oredered and distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tank tops are unisex adult sizes. >5K Registration Fee ............ $30/$35 after 5/18/22 at 5pm
>1.4 Mile Fun Walk .............. $30 through race day
>5K Virtual Race Entry* ....... $30 through 5/18/22 at 5pm
*Virtual participants will automatically receive their race shirt in the mail approximately 2 weeks after the race (Continental USA only).

NEW: Virtual Registration OptionCan't make the race... Participate virtually! Simply sign up for the 5K Virtual Race before it sells out. You choose the location and time to get out on your own and run/walk your 5K any time in the month of May. Feel free to use the FREE IYR Virtual App to track and score your run. You will also be able to manually enter your finish time directly to the IYR Results Page any time during the month of May. We'll automatically mail out your shirt about a week after the race.
POST RACE CELEBRATION
Enjoy the beauty of Delaware Park and meet us for a post-race celebration near St. George's Church! We will have coffee, bagels and treats from Tim Hortons as well as snacks, fresh fruit, food, and water. All participants (21 and older) will also recieve a coupon good for one free draft beer or well drink at Mr Goodbars located at Elmwood and Forest a short 5 minute drive from Delaware Park! Coupons good for today only.START/FINISHSTART TIME: 9:30AM - The race will start on Meadow Road (aka: Ring Road) near the Meadow drive entrance on the west side of the park and the finish line will be located near St George's at the northern edge of the park using the Superhero 5K USATF certified course (NY17016JJ).
PARKINGThere is plenty of free parking in and around Delaware park within walking distance of the start/finish line.AGE GROUPS & AWARDSTrophies will be presented to the 1st place overall male and female finishers. Age group medals will be presented to the top three male and female runners in each age group shown below. In the event of foul weather, public safety concerns, or for any other reason deemed necessary by race organizers (ex: state of emergency, etc), we reserve the right to postpone/reschedule the event at our discretion or offer a virtual alternative if necessary. TIMING & FINISH LINE SERVICESProfessional timing & finish line services using industry leading Jaguar Electronic RFID timing will be provided by Race Management Solutions. Results are updated throughout the race in real time and can be accessed at any time after crossing the finish line using any one of the following options:

Here in Western New York, the Alzheimer’s Association is committed to provide and enhance care and support for those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
Run Jimmy Run is committed to provide funds to the Alzheimer’s Association WNY to help keep their programs and services completely free of charge. Since 2013, Run Jimmy Run has raised nearly $100k for the Alzheimer’s Association WNY.
It is the generous support of our runners and sponsors that this was made possible. We are proud to be working within our community to help those families affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias. The purpose of this race is to celebrate the life, accomplishments and charitable spirit of Mayor Jim Griffin through a fitness-oriented event designed for all ages.
